CASA NEEDS VOLUNTEERS - YOU COULD BE ONE!

Beginning on Thursday, April 30 at 12:00pm (and every Monday – Friday after that until Friday, May 8, 2020) CASA will be going live on Facebook in hopes of reaching out to the community so you can ask your questions to learn more about how you can help a child in need.

Questions such as:

What does it take to become a volunteer?

How many hours do you commit to each month?

How do you advocate for a child with COVID-19 restrictions?

What is CASA training like and how is it to be facilitated with gatherings of 10 or more not allowed?

What does a CASA do?

What are the challenges faced by a CASA?

Following is the plea for volunteers our Missions Committee received recently as well as a letter that can be shared with more important information:

CASA LETTER LINK

Good Day Everyone,

Here's the bottom line - there are 30 children unassigned a CASA here in Carson City alone. Of those?  23 of them came into care during the month of April alone.

I am currently pushing hard for volunteer recruitment.

We will have a LIVE feed on Facebook Monday - Friday beginning Thursday, April 30 from 12:00pm - 12:45pm to encourage members of the public to reach out and to post their questions.

The end goal? 25 new volunteers by August 31, 2020.

We WILL make it.  Please share the [linked] document with your friends, your family, churches, book clubs everyone! Let's let it be known that our youth are struggling. We need CASAs! We need volunteers! Join us yourselves beginning Thursday, April 28 at 12:00pm. Say hello! See and be seen!

I need all hands on deck. If you know someone who has been interested? Now is the time to talk up our program. This is the strongest and most powerful weapon we have currently at our disposal, all of you! Share your experiences. The heartache and the joy! The challenges and the wins! Let people know how important it is to be a CASA.

I thank you for your time, I know you all are under the gun, feeling the stress. I know it's hard and my heart breaks daily for the stories I hear.  But our kids need us more now than ever before!

If you have a group that would like me to speak to them? Please! Invite me! I'd love to speak to them. Virtually! On the phone! Or send them our business plan! It's gorgeous and most definitely paints a picture.

I need help y'all, we need volunteers. Desperately. And it’s going to get worse before all is said and done.

As always, thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You've all given so much of yourselves and your time. Our kids are better because of you and never forget that. Even if we change one child's life, it's a life! A life we helped. That's what matters at the end of the day.
