We are inching closer and closer to the day when we will be able to meet in person in the sanctuary. I am grateful for everyone’s patience as we have been working to be good stewards of the flock in our decision-making. For those of you who will be concerned about what is going to happen when we do open up, two things:
a. We are training our greeters and ushers to be ready to facilitate seating and keeping social distance. We also have very efficient cleaning equipment with spray designed to keep food service places clean. After our recordings on these past two Wednesdays and Thursdays, we trained and practiced with our ushers. It is pretty impressive to see how quickly and easily a good cleaning can happen.
b. We are in the process of researching and purchasing video equipment to record the service — straight through. What you get in our current version are pieces taped separately and out of sequence. The equipment we are acquiring will do a lot of the work automatically. Our hope is to get same-day posting of the service initially; then, when we are able to do so effectively, stream live. When we stream live, people at home will experience the service almost simultaneously with the people in the congregation.
We have a few weeks before we get from here to there. But, like I said, we are inching closer and closer.
Please continue to pray for and support our efforts to be witnesses for Christ in this community into which He has sent us. Blessings!
