Sermon manuscript  Anointing and Ointment

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Starting next week, these links will be available on SUNDAY AFTERNOON instead of Saturday evening.  The reason is that we are going to start using the new video equipment and record the Sunday morning service.  It will take some time to get it posted after the service concludes.

Obviously that means that we are going to try in-person worship beginning Sunday, August 9.  We are limited to 50 people in the sanctuary.  Greeters will be doing a headcount. Given the number of people involved in the worship and technical teams, we are going to be maxed out at about 35 additional people.

I am guessing that it is going to be another month or so before we can effectively “live-stream.”  When we do, you will have the opportunity to see it as it is happening and/or watch it later the same day.

Friends, it appears that we are going to be in this modified social distancing arrangement for awhile.  Normal activities are unlikely to resume in familiar patterns for quite some time — we are already thinking into 2021.  Because this is so different and because it is having such an incredible impact on so many people (particularly and specifically: loneliness), please be intentional about being in touch with one another.  Whether it is an extra phone call, text, e-mail, or video conference, please make an extra step to check in on someone you think might be enduring the distancing in silence.  If you are struggling or discover someone else is struggling, let us know.

One final note: by the time you receive this, the Yard and Rummage Sale will be complete.  Many thanks to Grace and Bob Speicher for spearheading this project, and to all the volunteers who put in extraordinary hours to make it possible.  The setup was awesome and it was encouraging to see people lined up to get in before the doors were open.  Well done!

Your brother in Christ,

Bob Davis
