Sermon Manuscript:  By What Authority?

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ:

As I mention in the announcements (although I am not sure how clearly I communicated this), we are able to open up the taping productions on Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon for up to 50 people total (including musicians and production team). If you are interested in attending, please know:

a. Ushers will be assigning seating. We will be positioning people in the sections with appropriate distancing. There is NO free seating, even if your “normal” seat is really close by.

b. Masks are mandatory.

 c. We will be taking temperatures at the door.

 d. The ONLY door for entry will be the Division Street door. For those of you who have keys and could let yourself in through other doors, please do NOT. We are keeping a strict count and limiting access to the building.

Wednesday evening will be the music. Thursday will be all the spoken parts. The doors will open Wednesday evening at about 5:00 p.m. in order to be seated and ready to start recording at 5:30. The doors will open Thursday at about 12:30 p.m. in order to start recording at about 1:00.

Though these are worship videos we are preparing, the recording time looks and feels different than a worship service. It is not necessarily sequential. It does not follow all the way from beginning to end. There can be multiple takes. The goal is to create the raw recordings that then can be compiled into the service that we produce for everyone to see on Sunday.

The hope is to be able to practice the mechanics of re-starting in-person worship and working out some of the bugs to be able to continue recording to provide video access for those who will not be able to re-join when we do go “live.”

So, may God bless you as you watch the service this week.

Your brother in Christ,

Bob Davis
